Tug of War – voted last year’s #1 favorite event!

  • 60 seconds
  • Exact tournament format for each division will be determined on game day, because I won’t be able to build the brackets until then. Generally classes with less than 4 people will be “round robin” and classes with four or more will be “single elimination with losers’ bracket”.
  • You may not wrap the rope around your body in any way. This includes your hands/arms.
  • Judge will be watching the center marking on the rope to break the plane of the finish marker on either side. When this occurs, or when any part of an athlete’s body touches the ground other than the feet, the match will be over.
  • You may only pull backwards. Lateral movements beyond what is incidental is not permitted.

Max Axle Zercher – The best “big” lift you probably aren’t training… until now! 3 attempts to lift the biggest weight possible, but if you miss, you’re out!

  • 60sec to produce a successful lift. You may push, pull, kick, scream, and dance all you want in that 60sec to produce a good lift. If that 60sec expires and you have not produced a good lift, you are out.
  • Must wait for down command. To receive a down command, knees must be locked, feet must be motionless, hips extended, shoulders back, and back straight with the bar in the crook of the elbows.
  • Dropping the bar WILL result in a “no lift”. Throwing a hissy fit because of a no-lift call will result in the judge still not caring. Follow the bar down to the best of your ability.
  • We will take openers during warmups. 3 attempts will be allowed to reach a top weight, but if you miss, you’re out.
  • Sleeves are legal. One belt is allowed.
  • Suits, hooks, and oils are not legal. Whatever other shenanigans you think of to make this easier probably aren’t legal either.

Alternating Log & Block Press – Ya got a log and ya got a Mouser Block. Your job is to press one, set it down, then press the other one, and repeat the process until time runs out or you are lying in a heap on the platform wondering why you thought strongman was a cool life choice.
  • 75sec to perform as many reps as possible. Most reps wins.
  • Athlete will begin with the object of his/her choice, clean and press said object, then alternate back and forth between the implements taking them from the ground to overhead.
  • Must wait for down signal on each rep. In order to receive down signal, feet must motionless, not staggered, and within shoulder width; elbows, knees, and hips extended; posture upright; object motionless overhead

Max Distance Farmers Walk – This event answers many questions like “who’s got the strongest hands, hips, and back” and “who can actually move with weight”, but most importantly, this event tells us “who wants it more???”
  • Athlete will carry farmers handles as far as possible without dropping.
  • Course will be roughly 50ft, so turns will be made accordingly.
  • No grip aids of any sort beyond chalk
  • 75 seconds since Aaron Blackford requested more time.

Event #5 – MYSTERY EVENT! Will be announced at the rules meeting on game day 😉

*Equipment clarification –

  • Sleeves may not feature fastening or buckling mechanisms.
  • “One belt” mean you may use a normal power belt, OR a soft belt. Not both. Pick one. You’re not a mummy, you don’t need to dress like one to pick stuff up. Complaints may be sent to my email for the low low price of one point off your overall score apiece. What a bargain!

General Rules/Usual Mouser Stuff

  • In the event of a tie in the final standings, 1st place finishes will decide the winner. If there is still a tie, then 2nd place finishes will be the determinant, and so on. If a tie cannot be broken this way, athletes will compete in a tie breaker.
  • Sportsmanship is expected and required. This is the greatest sport in the world, let’s keep it that way.
  • There will be a pre-event prayer. No one is expected to participate, so please do not feel obligated. All we ask is to be respectful of those that do or do not wish to participate.
  • This is a drug free contest. If you are juiced feel free to come cheer on your buddies but please do not bother to sign up.
  • If you have a question, please ask! I would rather take a minute to clarify something than to see someone have a poor showing due to a misunderstanding.
